NoHo CARE Software Requirements

NoHo CARE is designed to utilize minimal system requirements, so that it can be used on most computers without requiring hardware or software upgrades. If you run Microsoft Office on your computer, then you can run NoHo CARE. It's that simple!

The following specifications are hardware configuration guidelines recommended by David Grant Incorporated (DGI) and should be used as a reference for technical support professional.

 
Single-User Configuration

In a single user setup, one computer is responsible for running both the database software and the workstation software. The system must have the following minimum specifications:

• Pentium Processor (Pentium III or higher preferred)

• Pentium Processor Windows 2000,XP or Vista

• At least 128 MB RAM (256 MB or more preferred)

• At least 2.0 GB available space (4.0 GB or more preferred)

• Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, 2000, 2005 or 2008

• DGI can provide a MSDE version of MS-SQL at no cost for clients with 8 or fewer users.

• Microsoft Access 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, 2010 (32 bit-only)

• MS Access is included in some Microsoft Office software packages. DGI can provide a run-time version of MS Access at no cost for clients without MS Access

Multi-User Configuration

Since the fileserver will be hosting all of the database processing, we recommend a powerful server with ample memory and fast processing capabilities.  Some form of fault tolerant hard drives is also strongly recommended to insure the life of the NoHo Database.

File Server Specifications:



• Pentium Processor

• At least 512 MB RAM (Additional RAM improves performance)

• At least 6.0 GB available hard drive space (RAID Disk Arrays Optional)

• Microsoft Windows Server 2000,2003, or 2008 (with appropriate licenses)

• Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, 2000, 2005 or 2008 (with appropriate licenses)

• DGI can provide a MSDE version of MS-SQL at no cost for clients with 8 or fewer users.

Workstation Specifications:



• Pentium Processor

• Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7

• At least 256 MB RAM (512GB or more preferred)

• At least 1.0 GB available space

• Microsoft Access 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, 2010 (32 bit-only)

• MS Access is included in some Microsoft Office software packages. DGI can provide a run-time version of MS Access at no cost for clients without MS Access.

All of the hardware and software requirements above are the minimum specifications. Newer and faster computers can improve system performance.
